Arlberger Winterklettersteig
Touring enthusiasts can enjoy the only winter climbing route in Tyrol. It lies in the Rendl area, is 850 metres long, secured with a steel cable and is considered to be particularly stunning. From the start at the top of the Riffelbahn II at 2650 metres, it passes over the Riffelgrat to the front of the Rendelspitze and further to the Rossfallscharte. At the end of the via ferrata are wonderful ski runs - either through the Malfontal to Pettneu or over the Rossfallalpe and through the Moostal back to St. Anton am Arlberg. In addition to downhill skis or snowboard, which are strapped to the rucksack during the approximately 2 hour 30 minute climb, climbing gear including a harness and carabiner as well as touring boots are essential.
